This is an aluminum fan shroud for the popular Tru Cool 40k transmission cooler (not included). This shroud is designed to use dual 6.5" Spal puller fans (optional). 

You would want to use this shroud if you have the transmission cooler mounted out of a direct airflow path, such as under the vehicle or laid down horizontally. Using a shroud allows any fan to work much more efficiently by pulling air through the entire heat exchanger core and not just the small area between the motor housing and outer fan edge.

The mounting points for the shroud line up with the existing mounts on the cooler and can be mounted the same way. Using this shroud also stiffens up the cooler considerably making it more durable. Can be easily painted or powdercoated if desired. The size covers the entire cooling area of the trucool and is 1in deep plus the height of the fans.

The fans can be controlled by any popular method (automatic thermostat, aftermarket ECU based on trans temp, manual on/off switch, etc.)
